The Educate Texas Education Leadership initiative was established in recognition of the critical role that school leaders play in the success of all schools. This initiative will strengthen the connection between leadership development and increased student performance. Student improvements happen through the leader’s ability to successfully facilitate change and enhance the outcomes for her district.
Educate Texas Urban Council of Superintendents
Educate Texas convenes, as necessary, the Urban Council of Superintendents to discuss the areas of greatest opportunity and challenge in their school districts. The Council serves as a forum for the sharing of innovative solutions among those who lead some of the largest districts in Texas and the nation.
Texas districts include Aldine, Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, El Paso, Fort Worth, Houston, Lubbock, San Antonio, and Ysleta.
Texas Superintendent Institute
Educate Texas is organizing a leadership development program to select, gather together, and support top-performing superintendents from around the state. Building on successful leadership development models, such as the Aspen Institute and the Broad Academy, the Institute will provide superintendents with the knowledge and skills required to drive their districts towards achieving better student outcomes. By sharing best practices and insights with one another, the Institute will help create a supportive network of high-performing peers as the superintendents take on bold district reforms.
