Our 2020 Census Approach in Dallas

Our 2020 Census Approach in Dallas

Appointed by Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings in the fall of 2018, the Dallas Complete Count Committee (DCCC) has assembled a broad, cross‐sector stakeholder base that is focused on ensuring a comprehensive and accurate count of residents within the City of Dallas and Dallas County.

The DCCC is now engaging to achieve the following objectives:

  • Increase participation rates among hard‐to‐count populations leading up to Census Day and through the Nonresponse Follow‐up Operation
  • Engage local community and faith‐based organizations (CBOs and FBOs), who may have a more trusted relationship with individuals, to deliver compelling messaging, collateral and tools that will facilitate completion
  • Raise awareness about the Census effort and promote citywide Census events through media channels to allay individuals’ concerns about filling out the Census

The Dallas Complete Count Committee Fund at the Communities Foundation of Texas will act to distribute resources in support of the DCCC’s plan of action.
