“I am excited about this fellowship focused on further developing as a leader committed to equity and building opportunities for students,” said Dr. Garza. “I look forward to growing and learning from so many amazing leaders and working every day for the students who need us most.”

The Pahara Fellowship offers an unparalleled opportunity for leaders like Dr. Garza to step back from the daily demands of their work and engage in reflective dialogue with peers. Through this collaborative approach, fellows challenge traditional boundaries, cultivate innovative strategies, and accelerate the improvements necessary to ensure high-quality learning opportunities for all students nationwide.

"Teachers are the most important factor in our classrooms to ensure that our students are succeeding and seeing through to thriving lives,” said Garza. “We know that the teaching profession has a lot of complications. There's a need to support both the policy and practices that are getting them into the classroom and keeping them there."
