STEM
As the 21st century progresses, young people must be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. Students learn these types of skills by studying Science, Technology, Engineering and Math - subjects collectively known as STEM. STEM programs bring together state agencies and school districts to focus on STEM education, with goals to strengthen instruction and academics, build relationships with industry experts and the business community, prepare students for STEM careers, and create best practices to use in other school districts.
