TEGAC_RGB.pngDriven by the desire to more powerfully advocate for key education polices in our shared focus areas, Educate Texas and Texas Education Grantmakers Advocacy Consortium (TEGAC) joined forces in January 2019.

Created in 2012, TEGAC is a funders collaborative made up of 50 private family foundations, community foundations and United Ways working together to protect, promote and improve public education in Texas so that all students can achieve their educational goals from cradle to career.

Aligning the strategies and unique set of skills of Educate Texas and TEGAC enables us to more purposefully engage and activate a broader set of philanthropic voices to affect education policy at both the local and state level. This full spectrum of philanthropic engagement in public education policy and advocacy will lead to far greater success than each team could achieve alone to improve the success of the more than 7 million public and higher education students in Texas.
