Philanthropy Advocates empowers Texas' philanthropic community to invest and engage in public and higher education policy and advocacy. We work to protect, promote, and improve public and higher education so that all Texas students can achieve their educational goals from cradle to career.
Each biennium, we raise pooled funds from our members for our three policy work groups (early grade success, effective teaching, and pathways to college and career) that support our research and advocacy efforts leading up to and through each legislative session. The policy recommendations and related advocacy campaigns are the culmination of these work groups and all of the time, effort and monetary investments of our members over the last 18 months.
These work group priorities are even more important in light of the challenges that COVID-19 has placed on our education system, our students and families, and our teachers.
We will advocate alongside our members, nine grantees and extended network of partners to advance these policy recommendations in the upcoming legislative session.
