Philanthropy Advocates empowers Texas' philanthropic community to invest and engage in public and higher education policy and advocacy. We work to protect, promote, and improve public and higher education so that all Texas students can achieve their educational goals from cradle to career.
Each biennium, we raise pooled funds from our members for our three policy work groups (early grade success, effective teaching, and pathways to college and career) that support our research and advocacy efforts leading up to and through each legislative session. The policy recommendations and related advocacy campaigns are the culmination of these work groups and all of the time, effort and monetary investments of our members over the last 18 months.
In 2021, we advocated alongside our members, nine grantees and extended network of partners to advance policy recommendations. View our Philanthropy Advocates 2021 Policy Recommendations.
After a regular legislative session and three special sessions, many bills passed the Texas Legislature impacting our education systems and communities. View our 87th Legislature (2021) and Special Sessions Bill Guide.
