College & Career Pathways

Originally called the “House Bill 5 Policy Work Group”, Philanthropy Advocates' College & Career Pathways Work Group began in 2013 after the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 5, which created new “endorsements” for all Texas high school students. This policy work group first emphasized and continues to focus on systems’ alignment across high school, postsecondary, and workforce in order to ensure all students have access to college and careers.

Philanthropy Advocates was formerly known as the Texas Education Grantmakers Advocacy Consortium (TEGAC) until August 2020. Previously-created resources, documents and blog posts mentioning TEGAC are still provided on this website for your reference.
