2022 Research - Effective Teaching

Focused on ensuring students have access to highly effective teachers, Philanthropy Advocates is collaborating with the University of Houston Education Research Center to better understand the prevalence and impact of policies allowing school districts to hire uncertified teachers on student outcomes and the overall teacher workforce. The Texas House of Representative’s Early Childhood Caucus is putting together a newsletter providing updates on their work. This caucus is a body of legislators focusing on improving outcomes for students in their earliest years.

Philanthropy Advocates was formerly known as the Texas Education Grantmakers Advocacy Consortium (TEGAC) until August 2020. Previously-created resources, documents and blog posts mentioning TEGAC are still provided on this website for your reference.
