Kendra Strange

Deputy Director, Programs

Kendra has had a passion for service since her early years as a Girl Scout. She grew up in the inner city of Dallas and was determined to be the first in her family to attend and graduate from college. Kendra believes all students have the potential to succeed, so she has made it her mission to ensure her students have access to the support and resources necessary to maximize their potential.

As the Deputy Director of the Texas College Access Network, Kendra will focus on deepening our connection to regional partners, expanding our membership, and connecting college access professionals with needed resources.

Kendra has worked in the college admission and access fields for more than 13 years. Most recently, she served for six years as the College Advisor for the Young Women’s Leadership Academy (YWLA) in Fort Worth ISD. During her time at YWLA, all four of their graduating classes had 100% acceptance rates to 4-year colleges and universities and they earned more than $30 million in merit scholarship awards. Kendra built the structure and college bound program at the YWLA from inception.

Kendra earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Kansas State University.
